Insert the simmering basket and weigh in the rice. Remove the basket and rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.
Add the water to the Thermomix bowl, then return the simmering basket with the rinsed rice. Cook for 18-22 mins/100℃/speed 4. Check the rice is cooked through. If needed, cook for a further 1-2 minutes.
Carefully remove the simmering basket using the spatula, fluff with a fork and serve.

To keep it safe to eat, cooked rice should be cooled and refrigerated as quickly as possible. If left at room temperature for too long, bacteria can develop.To cool it quickly, spread the rice out on a baking tray or large container. Once cold, cover and refrigerate. Use within 1-2 days.If not using it for fried rice, reheat in the microwave until piping hot, stirring halfway through.
