This sweet and tangy balsamic glaze comes together with just balsamic vinegar and brown sugar in the Thermomix, no standing over a pot on the stove. Drizzle it over a rocket and parmesan salad, or with fresh strawberries, for an easy way to dress up a simple meal.

Recipe Ingredients

Note: The full quantities are shown in the recipe card below.
- Balsamic vinegar
- Brown sugar
How to Make
Add the balsamic vinegar and brown sugar to the Thermomix bowl and heat for 20 min/Varoma/speed 1. See recipe tips below.

Recipe Tips
- Open a window before you start. Once it's finished heating, avoid standing directly over the bowl, as the fumes are strong and quite pungent.
- After the 20 minutes is up, the glaze will still look very runny. Don't worry, it thickens considerably into a lovely thick glaze within a couple of hours.
- There's no need to use the simmering basket or splatter guard. Let the steam escape as it cooks.
- The glaze reduces a lot during cooking and it's ready when it coats the back of a spoon.
Serving Suggestions

I love it drizzled over a simple tomato, mozzarella and basil salad, and it's also lovely spooned over roast veggies.
Storage
Store the balsamic glaze in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a month.
