Recipe Ingredients

Note: The full quantities are shown in the recipe card below.
- Apples - we use Granny Smith apples, but you could also use a sweeter apple like Royal Gala or Red Delicious. If using sweeter apples, omit or reduce the caster sugar - you can always add it at the end of cooking if the sauce is sour.
- Sugar - either caster sugar or regular white sugar can be used.
- Lemon juice - adds a perfect touch of tartness to balance the sweetness of apple sauce. You can omit it if you prefer, but it helps enhance the flavour.
Variations
Spice - add cinnamon, nutmeg, or allspice to give the apple sauce a warm, comforting flavour.
Step-by-Step Directions
Note: This is a summary of the instructions. The full ingredients and instructions are shown in the recipe card below.

- Add the apples to the Thermomix bowl and chop until small.

- Add the water, lemon juice and sugar and cook for 15 min/90°C/reverse/speed 1. You can serve the sauce like it is or blend it until smooth.
