Thermomix Margaritas
The ultimate refreshing warm weather cocktail!
Ingredients
- Salt and lime wedge for the rim, optional
- 100 g silver tequila, (blanco)
- 50 g Cointreau, note 1
- 100 g fresh lime juice, (4-5 limes)
- 50 g sugar syrup, note 2
- 75 g ice + extra ice cubes for the glasses
Instructions
- Salting the rim is optional but gives a margarita its classic flavour. Pour a small amount of salt onto a plate. Run a wedge of lime around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into the salt until it is lightly coated. Add a few ice cubes to the glass before pouring in the margarita.
- Add the tequila, Cointreau, lime juice, sugar syrup (if using) and approximately 75g of ice to the Thermomix bowl. Mix for 10 sec/reverse/speed 4.
- Insert the simmering basket into the Thermomix bowl and strain the margarita evenly between the glasses.
Notes
Note 1. Grand Marnier or Triple Sec can be used instead of Cointreau.
Note 2. Sweetening the Margarita is optional. Sugar syrup is equal parts of boiling water and sugar stirred together and dissolved. You could also use Agave syrup.
